EDM number 2920 in 2010-12, proposed by Jim Sheridan on 26/03/2012.
Categorised under the topics of International politics and government and Middle East.

That this House welcomes the clear declaration recently made by the European Parliament calling for Turkey to return the closed area of the town of Famagusta to its rightful inhabitants; notes that this declaration is very clearly in line with the resolution passed by the United Nations Security Council on Famagusta; and calls on the Government andthe EU to make very clear to Turkey the key role that it can play in making certain that real progress is made in ensuring that this declaration is implemented in the very near future and to work closely with the Mayor of Famagusta, Mr Alexis Galanos, in implementing such a settlement.

This motion has been signed by a total of 16 MPs.
