That this House congratulates Fiction Factory and playwrights Sion Eirian and Ed Thomas for the production of the epic Welsh language drama Pen Talar on S4C; notes that the nine hour long drama set in the Tywi valley in Carmarthenshire encapsulates the political, economic and social development of Wales from the 1960s to the present day through the lives of two families; further notes that the cast includes some of Wales' most promising acting talent including Ryland Teifi, Richard Harrington and Mali Harries; acknowledges the importance of such high quality drama to the cultural and economic life of Wales; and calls on the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport to watch all nine episodes as part of his decision-making on the future funding of S4C.
