That this House supports the protests by Equity, the trade union for professional performers, and others at the recent visit by the Belarus National Theatre; believes that the government of Belarus denies freedom of expression, freedom of assembly and engages in repression of artists; congratulates Equity and the Belarus Free Theatre in their efforts to highlight the governmental abuses in Belarus; and calls on the Government to press the Belarus authorities to respect freedom of expression, assembly and to end the repression and victimisation of artists.
