That this House notes the importance of the British horseracing industry in contributing to the economy and job creation; praises the work of the British Horseracing Authority and Racing United in campaigning for a fair British horserace betting levy; acknowledges that the Horserace Betting Levy raises millions of pounds for local racecourses; is concerned that the amount paid to racecourses from the Horserace Betting Levy has fallen by a third in two years; and calls on the Horserace Betting Levy Board and the Government to close loopholes in the horserace betting levy to ensure local racecourses receive the funding they need.
