T In The Park's 20th Year

That this House congratulates the T in the Park festival on its 20th year; commends it on providing a world-class, award-winning music festival in the heart of Scotland; recognises the importance that this festival has in enriching the Scottish musical and cultural landscape as well as the economic benefits of 7 million locally and 40 million within Scotland; welcomes the global reach of the event in bringing music fans from all over the world to this renowned event and giving them the opportunity to experience Scottish hospitality and encouraging wider tourist participation against a breathtaking backdrop; further commends T in the Park for showcasing Scottish acts and allowing them to flourish by giving unsigned bands a platform on the T Break Stage; further recognises the tremendous success that has been achieved from the first event at Strathclyde Park hosting 17,000 fans to its current home of Balado where 85,000 fans are expected each day; and wishes the event all the best for the future years in showcasing the best of Scottish musical talent alongside world leading acts.
