Apprenticeship Week And Get Edinburgh Working

That this House welcomes Skills Development Scotland's National Apprenticeship Week; recognises the assistance of local authorities, Job Centre Plus, Skills Development Scotland and Scotland's colleges in delivering apprenticeships and work experience places; applauds the 12,000 businesses which employ 34,000 modern apprentices in a range of sectors across Scotland; further applauds the businesses which pledged to take on an apprentice at the Get Edinburgh Working event at Murrayfield on 25 May; and encourages honest and open discussion between businesses, colleges, local authorities and others on how best to tackle youth unemployment in their sector and area.
