African Horse Sickness

EDM number 678 in 2012-13, proposed by Alan Meale on 05/11/2012.
Categorised under the topics of Africa, Animal diseases and Animals.

That this House is alarmed by reports that at the forthcoming EU-level discussions involving the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs' responsibilities, consideration is to be given to the possibility of lifting the ban on the import of thoroughbred horses into the UK from South Africa, a move which could prove disastrous as it may lead to the introduction of African horse sickness into the UK which would have calamitous consequences.

This motion has been signed by a total of 10 MPs.
