That this House pays tribute to the life of Lord Tarsem King, who sadly passed away on 9 January 2013; recognises that Lord King will serve as an inspiration for future generations as Britain's first Sikh Council Leader and later Britain's first Sikh peer; notes his long and distinguished career as a public servant as a councillor for Sandwell Council for 28 years between 1979 and 2007 and as Leader of Sandwell Council between 1997 and 2001; and extends condolences and sympathies to his family during this difficult time.
