Use Of The Term European Union

EDM number 475 in 2015-16, proposed by Kelvin Hopkins on 16/09/2015.
Categorised under the topics of EU institutions, EU political integration and Europe.

That this House deprecates the frequent use of the term Europe when what is meant is the European Union; considers Europe to be a wonderful continent of great nations and peoples of great beauty and culture and that the European Union is simply a political structure covering many of the countries of Europe; and therefore urges that in all governmental offices and documentation the term European Union should be used whenever appropriate and specifically that among other changes, the Minister for Europe should be designated the Minister for the European Union.

This motion has been signed by a total of 19 MPs.
