That this House welcomes Channel 4's Year of Disability and the commitment to broadcasting over 700 hours of coverage from the Paralympic Games in Rio in Summer 2016; commends the diversity of Channel 4's presenting and production teams in Rio, which includes the largest ever team of disabled presenters on UK television, with almost two thirds of presenters having a disability and more than 15 per cent of the production team comprising disabled talent; further welcomes the fact that 2016's Rio coverage will be even more accessible to disabled viewers with 100 per cent of content subtitled and audio description and signing available for the opening and closing ceremonies; notes that the Paralympic Games provide an exciting and important opportunity to showcase the UK's Paralympic sporting talent and to highlight the UK's commitment to equality and diversity both on the international stage and to UK audiences; and wishes the over 250 athletes in the ParalympicsGB team the best of luck at the Rio Games.
