That this House celebrates the news that Coventry has been chosen to be UK City of Culture in 2021, reminding the UK of the incredible depth of culture and heritage found in Coventry, as well as the wider West Midlands; recognises the strong bids put forward by the other shortlisted cities of Stoke-on-Trent, Paisley, Sunderland and Swansea to reach the final stage; welcomes the demonstration of the strength of culture across the UK; congratulates and acknowledges the immense effort of all those who contributed to Coventry's successful bid, lead by David Burbidge and Laura McMillan; and encourages all hon. Members to visit Coventry.
