Yemen's 1000 Day War

EDM number 714 in 2017-19, proposed by Keith Vaz on 19/12/2017.
Categorised under the topics of International development, International law, International politics and government and Middle East.

That this House recognises that today marks the 1,000 day anniversary of the beginning of the civil war in Yemen; notes that the war has caused the worst humanitarian crisis of this generation with 80 per cent of Yemen's population requiring urgent humanitarian assistance; further notes that the Saudi Arabian supported coalition still enforces a blockade on Yemen that may be in prohibition of international humanitarian law; calls on the Government to use all the leverage that it has to ensure that the coalition blockade is lifted; and urges the Government to use every diplomatic instrument available to bring this conflict to an end.
