Shout Out 4children Week

EDM number 2439 in 2005-06, proposed by Karen Buck on 26/06/2006.

That this House welcomes Shout Out 4Children Week from 26th June to 2nd July, organised by the national children's charity 4Children, which highlights a range of issues that are really important to children today; notes that the theme of the week, Childhood Today, gives children and young people the chance to have their say about what kind of childhood they want and deserve; acknowledges the importance of promoting active participation by children in society and welcomes 4Children's annual Buzz survey; highlights development in the children's services sector, especially delivery of children's centres, extended schools and childcare; celebrates the hard work undertaken by all those people who support children and families every day in all settings, including childcarers, children's centres, schools and children's services in the UK; and applauds the best of those who work in childcare by recognising the Childcare Stars Awards 2006.

This motion has been signed by a total of 57 MPs.
