INTERNATIONAL NURSES' DAY

That this House joins with the rest of the country in celebrating International Nurses' Day on 12th May, the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale; notes that International Nurses' Day has a particular significance in the United Kingdom this year, the 50th anniversary of the National Health Service; pays tribute to the immense dedication, skill and commitment of our nation's 600,000 nurses, acknowledges the enormous contribution made by nurses to the health service during the past 50 years; and looks forward to welcoming the continued contribution of nurses to our National Health Service in the years to come.
