Cycle Use

EDM number 1395 in 1997-98, proposed by Andrew Robathan on 08/06/1998.

That this House notes that in spite of the target in the National Cycling Strategy to double cycle use form 1996 to 2002, figures in Transport Statistics for Metropolitan Areas 1998 show that cycle use as a proportion of all trips is still declining; therefore expects the White Paper on an integrated transport policy and the subsequent regulations and guidance to include measures specifically designed to make cyling more attractive and increase cycle use; and welcomes the many events to promote cyling taking place all over the United Kingdom as part of Halfords National Bike Week with an estimated participation of at least 300,000 people.

This motion has been signed by a total of 51 MPs, 2 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
