Air Passenger Duty And Children

EDM number 409 in 1999-00, proposed by James Plaskitt on 16/02/2000.

That this House notes that as a result of EU infraction proceedings, the Government is required to end the exemption from air passenger duty for the return leg of domestic flights; welcomes the Chancellor's commitment, in his pre-budget statement, to meet these requirements through revenue-neutral changes to air passenger duty; and urges the Chancellor to consider achieving this by exempting children from this tax.

This motion has been signed by a total of 57 MPs.
