EDM number 22 in 2000-01, proposed by Elfyn Llwyd on 06/12/2000.

That this House notes that although pensioners generally have been promised reward in the April Budget, there is still the anomaly that the Government has created between tax allownces for married pensioner couples who were born before and after 5th April 1935; calls on the Government to terminate this discrimination in next April's Budget; and calls on the Government to increase pensions to a fair and just level and then to reintroduce the earnings link.
