Us/uk South Pole Trekking Expedition In Aid Of Diabetes Research

EDM number 1418 in 2001-02, proposed by Adrian Sanders on 11/06/2002.

That this House wishes British born Will Cross every success in his 700 mile trek to the South Pole as part of a three person US/UK team; notes that he will be joined by his 60 year old father, Michael Cross OBE, for the last 120 miles; and further notes that both father and son are insulin dependent diabetics who, with the rest of the team undertaking what has been described as the 'Ultimate Trek to Cure Diabetes', will conduct en-route research into diabetic metabolism in extreme conditions, raise money for research and hopefully inspire diabetics not to allow the disease to limit their ambitions.

This motion has been signed by a total of 54 MPs.
