Future D-Day Commemorations

EDM number 1943 in 2002-03, proposed by Andrew Rosindell on 18/11/2003.

That this House notes the importance of the 60th Anniversary of the D-Day landings taking place in June 2004; expresses its shock and dismay at the reported decision of the Ministry of Defence to end all Second World War commemorations after May 2005, and its refusal to provide additional funding to help Normandy veterans to attend next year's ceremony; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to make a statement clarifying its intentions as a matter of urgency.

This motion has been signed by a total of 22 MPs.
