Degradable Plastic Bags

EDM number 30 in 2002-03, proposed by Jonathan Sayeed on 13/11/2002.

That this House recognises the environmental advantages of degradable plastics namely that they can be composted, that they will degrade when exposed to a normal environment and that they are environmentally friendly in their production; and calls upon the Government to recognise a distinction on environmental grounds between conventional plastics and degradable plastic bags.

This motion has been signed by a total of 84 MPs.
