Gibraltar Tercentenary Celebrations

EDM number 355 in 2003-04, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 06/01/2004.

That this House notes that 2004 marks the 300th anniversary of British sovereignty in Gibraltar; recognises the loyalty shown over the past three centuries by the people of Gibraltar towards the British Crown and the clear commitment to remaining part of the UK as expressed in the referendum of November 2002; welcomes the number of events both in the UK and Gibraltar to celebrate this historic landmark; and hopes that everyone will take time to enjoy the celebrations with a view to looking forward to Gibraltar's role in Britain's future.

This motion has been signed by a total of 70 MPs.
