Ghost Ships

EDM number 41 in 2003-04, proposed by Caroline Spelman on 26/11/2003.

That this House welcomes the DEFRA Select Committee's investigation into the handling of the ghost ships; expresses concern about the confusion and lack of joined-up thinking surrounding the ghost ships' arrival in Hartlepool; expresses further concern about the environmental damage these ships may pose; and calls upon the Government to fulfil its promise to return these ships as soon as practicable.
