Dla Mobility Component For Children Aged Less Than Three Years
EDM number 484 in 2003-04, proposed by Eddie McGrady on 26/01/2004.
That this House calls for a review of current Social Security legislation that rules that the mobility component of disability living allowance is not payable in respect of any child under three years; notes that at present, children aged under three years with a severe disability are disallowed this award, despite the fact that they have a clear mobility need; and therefore urges that the age limit should be lowered from three years to birth in order fully to recognise the needs of severely disabled children.
