Breast Cancer Lavender Week, 28th February - 6th March

EDM number 815 in 2004-05, proposed by Andrew Lansley on 02/03/2005.

That this House congratulates the Lavender Trust, a subsidiary of Breast Cancer Care, for organising Lavender Week which is running from 28th February until 6th March; notes that the event is aimed at promoting awareness of breast cancer, particularly among young women, and helping younger sufferers of the disease; recognises that work done in this area is vital, since 80 per cent. of breast cancer cases are in women over 50, and so younger victims of breast cancer can often feel isolated; further notes that all money raised through this event will be used to increase the availability of the services provided by Breast Cancer Care; and further congratulates Lavender Trust and all of its supporters for having raised over ú1 million since 1998.

This motion has been signed by a total of 103 MPs.
