Free Bus, Train And Tram Travel

EDM number 1573 in 2005-06, proposed by David Crausby on 06/02/2006.

That this House welcomes the decision by the Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority and the Association of Greater Manchester Authorities to extend the Government funded free off-peak bus travel to include train and tram travel; recognises that many over-60s and disabled people are solely dependent on public transport and that travel costs account for a substantial part of their weekly expenditure; and calls on the Government to continue to fund and support this type of project that will benefit many senior citizens and disabled people.

This motion has been signed by a total of 53 MPs.
