Funeral Industry Code Of Conduct

EDM number 1960 in 2005-06, proposed by David Amess on 18/04/2006.

That this House believes there is a need for a code of conduct for professionals who have contact with the recently bereaved to ensure that the distressing situation in which the bereaved find themselves is not exacerbated by inappropriate behaviour; and further believes that this code of conduct should aim to lessen the stigma and stress caused by bereavement, cushion the pain of loss and show suitable respect for the deceased and that all those involved in the funeral industry should be encouraged to sign and adhere to such a code of conduct.

This motion has been signed by a total of 24 MPs.
