NATIONAL OSTEOPOROSIS SOCIETY'S 20th BIRTHDAY
EDM number 2356 in 2005-06, proposed by John Austin on 13/06/2006.
That this House congratulates the National Osteoporosis Society (NOS) on celebrating its 20th birthday; welcomes the progress the NOS has made since its creation in 1986 in becoming the largest society in the United Kingdom representing people with, or at risk of, osteoporosis which leads to painful and debilitating fractures; is concerned that one in two women and one in five men over the age of fifty in the United Kingdom will suffer a fracture; and wishes the NOS success in the future as it continues its work to support the improvement of services for the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of the fragile bone disease osteoporosis.
