Mr Paul Blackburn

That this House welcomes the decision of the Court of Appeal to overturn the conviction of Mr Paul Blackburn, who was wrongly convicted at the age of 15 years and who has spent 26 years in prison largely due to his continued denial of guilt; congratulates Glynn Maddocks, the solicitor who has spent 12 years fighting to obtain justice for Mr Blackburn; believes that Mr Blackburn deserves substantial compensation, which can never make up for the years that he has spent in prison; and calls for an inquiry into this dreadful and costly miscarriage of justice.
