National Radio Station For Children

EDM number 2608 in 2005-06, proposed by Don Foster on 19/07/2006.

That this House notes that three national DAB radio channels now lie vacant; further notes plans for an additional multiplex to allow for up to 10 new national radio channels; further notes that an independent MORI survey in February 2001 showed 57 per cent. public support for a national DAB radio channel for pre- and primary school children; believes that one of the available channels should be reserved pending research into the benefits of, and demand for, a national radio channel for children; and urges the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport to invite Ofcom to organise such research.

This motion has been signed by a total of 46 MPs.
