Rhyl Royal National Lifeboat Institute

EDM number 2644 in 2005-06, proposed by Chris Ruane on 25/07/2006.

That this House offers its support and gratitude to the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI), in particular those at Rhyl Lifeboat Station which in 2005, the busiest year ever for the RNLI, was the busiest station in Wales and the second busiest in the UK with the resort's lifeboats being launched 107 times and 76 people rescued; recognises that the RNLI is staffed entirely by volunteers, who are available day and night to respond to emergency calls and often operate in difficult and dangerous circumstances; and notes that this essential emergency service is funded entirely by donations from the public.

This motion has been signed by a total of 52 MPs.
