Deportation To Zimbabwe

EDM number 416 in 2005-06, proposed by Angus Robertson on 27/06/2005.

That this House urges the UK Government to take swift action over the Zimbabwean Government's policy of Murumbatsvina which is causing the unnecessary displacement, starvation, and death of tens of thousands of the Zimbabwean population; further calls on the UK Government to suspend the possible deportation of the 116 Zimbabwean asylum seekers currently held in the United Kingdom until the internal crisis in Zimbabwe stabilises; and to that end supports the intervention of the United Nations and eagerly awaits the report of the UN's Special Envoy Anna Tibaijuka.

This motion has been signed by a total of 57 MPs.
