Archbishop Ncube And Human Rights In Zimbabwe

EDM number 474 in 2005-06, proposed by Richard Burden on 30/06/2005.

That this House notes the courageous stand of Archbishop Pius Ncube of Bulawayo against the Zimbabwean Government's inhumane programme of demolitions of dwellings; and urges the Foreign Secretary to redouble his efforts to press President Mugabe to respect the human rights of all Zimbabwean citizens and to stop destroying their homes and livelihoods, and to seek a guarantee from the Zimbabwean Government that no harm will come to the Archbishop on his return home.

This motion has been signed by a total of 61 MPs.
