Classification Of Wildlife Crime As Recordable
EDM number 565 in 2005-06, proposed by Bob Spink on 12/07/2005.
That this House welcomes the Environmental Audit Committee's recommendations and conclusions on wildlife crime, published in October 2004; notes that it stated that wildlife crime must be classified as recordable by the Home Office so that police forces understand the priority needed to be given to tackling wildlife crime and allocate proper resources to this work; is deeply concerned that some 10,000 badgers a year are attacked by baiters who subject these animals to vicious and inhumane cruelty; and calls on the Government to accept the Committee's recommendations and send a clear message to police forces to deal with this unacceptable crime against animal welfare.
