Gibraltar Day Trafalgar Celebration

That this House celebrates the historic ties that exist between Gibraltar and the United Kingdom, strengthened by shared experience at the battle of Trafalgar; notes that this link has special significance this year on the 200th anniversary of the Battle and wishes to thank the government of Gibraltar for incorporating the recognition of the Battle of Trafalgar into their Gibraltar Day celebrations in the City of London; further notes that Gibraltar's contribution to the Battle was critical in achieving a victory that secured the prosperity and freedom of the United Kingdom and highlights the continued importance of the UK's relationship with the people of Gibraltar, and the common heritage the UK and Gibraltar share.
