Supermarket Power

EDM number 882 in 2005-06, proposed by John Austin on 27/10/2005.

That this House is concerned by the extent of supermarket power and the inability of the Supermarket Code of Practice, and its regulator, the Office of Fair Trading, to prevent short notice supplier delisting, as exemplified by the Ferndale Foods/ASDA case, which has resulted in significant job losses and trade distortion as suppliers are denied fair opportunity to secure alternative customers.

This motion has been signed by a total of 57 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
