Level Of Consumer Debt In The UK

EDM number 914 in 2005-06, proposed by Gregory Campbell on 01/11/2005.

That this House notes the figures recently released by the Bank of England regarding consumer debt in the United Kingdom; expresses concern that between September 1995 and September 2005 the level of such debt increased from £453 billion in 1995 to £1,130 billion this year; and calls upon the Government to take steps to reduce this alarming increase, which leaves United Kingdom families in such a perilous position.

This motion has been signed by a total of 29 MPs.
