Hungry To Be Heard Campaign

EDM number 377 in 2006-07, proposed by Edward Davey on 04/12/2006.

That this House condemns the scandal that means six out of 10 older people are at risk of becoming malnourished during a stay in hospital; supports Age Concern's Hungry to be Heard campaign; calls on NHS trusts to take immediate and sustained action to end the malnutrition of older people in hospital; requests that staff ensure that older people are assessed for the signs or danger of malnourishment on admission and at regular intervals during their stay in hospital; urges hospital staff to ensure that those who need help with eating receive that help; and notes that ending the scandal of malnourished older people in hospital will save lives.

This motion has been signed by a total of 149 MPs.
