Bereavement Advice Centre

EDM number 865 in 2006-07, proposed by Bill Olner on 07/02/2007.

That this House welcomes the launch of the Bereavement Advice Centre which will provide support to the bereaved on a host of practical issues; values the provision of a single contact number which those affected by bereavement can call for information and guidance; welcomes the availability of a freephone helpline, 0800 634 9494, which bereaved people can call to talk through their questions and concerns; congratulates the National Association of Funeral Directors for their involvement in establishing the Centre and for their financial support; and welcomes the fact that it will be run on a not-for-profit basis.
