Energy Efficiency

EDM number 905 in 2006-07, proposed by Colin Challen on 20/02/2007.

That this House recognises that climate change is the greatest threat faced by the world and that energy efficiency is the most effective approach to tackling both climate change and energy security; welcomes and supports leading business and environmental organisations working together on the launch of a Joint Statement on Energy Efficiency setting out the areas where Government policy on energy efficiency must progress as a matter of urgency if dangerous climate change is to be tackled; and calls on the Government to take the opportunity of the forthcoming Energy White Paper to implement the measures set out in the Joint Statement and commit to a step change in policies that will drive energy efficiency.

This motion has been signed by a total of 82 MPs, 2 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
