Firecontrol Project

EDM number 1175 in 2007-08, proposed by Andrew Dismore on 12/03/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Emergency services and Fire services.

That this House is concerned about the serious financial and service implications for both central and local government, and for the Fire Service and the public, of the Department for Communities and Local Government's (DCLG) FireControl Project; notes that an independent review of the latest business case by the Institute of Public Finance showed costs had risen while projected savings had fallen; further notes that Scotland has rejected regionalisation of fire control centres in favour of maintaining and building on the existing control establishments; and therefore calls for an urgent, full and independent assessment of the DCLG's final business case for the FireControl Project before any further decisions are made.

This motion has been signed by a total of 45 MPs.
