Liberalisation Of The UK Postal Sector

EDM number 1499 in 2007-08, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 07/05/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Postal services and Service industries.

That this House urges the Government to acknowledge with urgency the findings of the commissioned independent review of the UK postal sector; recognises the warning from the panel that liberalisation of the service is a threat to Royal Mail's financial stability; asks the Government to demonstrate an awareness of the policies that are needed to establish a sustainable future for Royal Mail; and recognises consumer group PostWatch's plea for acknowledgment that a healthy, efficient and profitable Royal Mail is critically important.

This motion has been signed by a total of 45 MPs.
