That this House congratulates the British Film Institute (BFI) on its 75th anniversary; welcomes its work in promoting understanding and appreciation of Britain's acclaimed film and television heritage and culture; notes that the BFI National Archive is the largest archive of moving image material in the world and includes over 275,000 films, 210,000 television programmes, seven million photographs and 15,000 posters; further welcomes Screenonline for schools, to which access to the moving image material is free and available to all UK schools, colleges, universities and public libraries through the National Education Network or JANET; and calls on the Government to continue its support of the BFI's work for another 75 years and beyond.
