Remembrance Day

EDM number 2474 in 2007-08, proposed by Frank Field on 11/11/2008.
Categorised under the topic of Armed forces.

That this House calls on the Government to consider making Remembrance Day a bank holiday; further calls on the Government to begin discussions with representatives of past and present armed forces personnel on how best the country can learn and remember from the sacrifices our armed services have made to protect this country's freedom; and requests that such discussion should include means for this form of remembrance to be built into the Government's evolving citizenship programme.

This motion has been signed by a total of 68 MPs.
