National Literacy Trust 15th Anniversary, 12th November 2008

That this House congratulates the National Literacy Trust on its 15th anniversary; supports the excellent work it does to enhance literacy levels amongst children and adults across the UK; recognises the important role it plays in linking together the home, school and community to create opportunities for learning; encourages people to recognise the importance of literacy in fulfilling their own and the nation's potential; welcomes its numerous campaigns and initiatives, including the 2008 National Year of Reading, in which it has promoted literacy and inspired learners of all ages; and looks forward to celebrating the work of the National Literacy Trust long into the future.
