Closure Of Post Offices In Essex

EDM number 495 in 2007-08, proposed by Bob Spink on 06/12/2007.
Categorised under the topics of Postal services and Service industries.

That this House notes with concern the announcement of the planned closure of many more post offices in Essex; believes that post offices offer a vital service to the community; further believes that the closures are likely to have a particularly negative impact on elderly and disabled members of the community and that these closures could result in the degradation of the local communities; and calls on the Government to boost, rather than close, post offices by reversing the cuts in public business carried out in post offices.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
