That this House notes that His Excellency Mohammed Belmahi is to relinquish his appointment as Ambassador of His Majesty the King of Morocco to the Court of St. James'; expresses its gratitude for his outstanding contribution to UK-Moroccan relations during nine years in the UK and in particular his personal commitment ensuring His Majesty's £1 million sponsorship for Oxford University and the remarkable exhibition of ancient examples of the Bible, the Koran and the Torah at the British Library to promote greater inter-faith understanding; acknowledges the charming dedicated support Mrs Äse Belmahi has given to British-Moroccan events; and records its thanks to the Belmahi family for their distinguished service in furthering the historic friendship between our countries.
