Caring For Carers Campaign

EDM number 2201 in 2008-09, proposed by Greg Mulholland on 02/11/2009.
Categorised under the topics of Community care and Sickness, disability and carers' benefits.

That this House supports the Daily Mirror in its Caring for Carers campaign; recognises the hugely important role that Britain's six million carers play in providing care for the elderly or ill friends and relatives; notes that many carers are unable to find full-time work because of their responsibilities to those for whom they care; and regrets that, despite saving the NHS approximately £87 billion pounds a year, many carers struggle financially due to low incomes and often cannot afford basic costs of living.

This motion has been signed by a total of 55 MPs.
