Eu Working Time Directive

EDM number 28 in 2008-09, proposed by Bob Spink on 03/12/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Employment and EU law and treaties.

That this House is concerned that the European Parliament vote on 17 December on amendments to the EU's Working Time Directive could spell the end of the UK's opt-out from EU rules on maximum hours of work; believes that this is particularly concerning at this time of economic crisis and that such matters should be for British hon. Members to decide rather than unaccountable bodies in the EU; and therefore urges the Government to defend the UK's democratic right to decide such matters.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
