Deaths Of Children In Gaza

EDM number 684 in 2008-09, proposed by Harry Cohen on 03/02/2009.
Categorised under the topics of Middle East and Military operations.

That this House notes with amazement the reported comments of Israeli Foreign Secretary, Tzipi Livni that certain people in the world have accused Israel of acting against international values and rights, that there is a difference between premeditated murder and death by accident, and that terrorists aim directly at children in Israel while Israeli soldiers make an effort to avoid hurting children; reaffirms that there is considerable evidence that Israel acted against international values and rights in its recent onslaught on Gaza; further notes that the killing of 450 children and injury of another 1,500 as a consequence of the actions of Israel's armed forces was not an accident; and expresses concern about the future prospects for peace when such prominent Israeli politicians live in a fantasy world to justify their denial of the facts and make such senseless statements.

This motion has been signed by a total of 49 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
