Severn Bridges Toll Price

EDM number 368 in 2009-10, proposed by Jenny Willott on 03/12/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Roads.

That this House is deeply concerned at the impact that the toll on crossing the Severn Bridges has on the economies on both sides of the estuary; notes that the annual increase in the tolls on crossings over the Severn Bridges in line with inflation is usually announced in December of the preceding year; is further deeply concerned at the impact this further price rise on the Severn Bridge toll crossings would have for the accessibility of businesses, commuters and visitors across the estuary; further notes that permission was not granted to increase the Humber Bridge toll during the summer of 2009; and calls on the Secretary of State for Transport to use his powers under the Severn Bridges Act 1992 not to implement the annual inflationary increase in the toll for crossings over the Severn Bridges.

This motion has been signed by a total of 17 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
